Blower Door Systems - What are they?

Blower Door Systems are tools used to measure the airtightness of buildings. They consist of a powerful fan that is mounted to an exterior doorway or window and a pressure gauge that measures the difference in air pressure between the inside and outside of the building. By depressurizing or pressurizing the building, the blower door system can help identify areas where air is leaking in or out of the building, which can then be addressed to improve energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and overall building performance. Blower door systems are commonly used in energy audits and home performance assessments.
