Count the supply registers on a typical job, then add one or two spares.
- Apartments, condos and small single-system homes usually run 6–10 supply registers → a 10-cap kit covers it.
- Larger homes and multi-system houses often run 12–20 → go with a 20-cap kit.
- Oversized registers (anything past about 10" × 16" inside the gasket) need a Large Vent Cap, which seals up to 16.5" × 16.5".

Do Vent Caps work on popcorn ceilings and floor registers?
Yes. The soft foam gasket conforms to textured ceilings, wall registers and floor registers, and the hooks come in plastic and malleable metal for curved-blade grilles.
